Rental Car Pickup Checklist: What to Check Before Driving Away
A careful five-minute check at pickup prevents confusion later. Complete it whether the car is delivered to an airport, hotel or another Belgrade address.
Documents and agreement
Confirm the driver names, rental dates, return time, approved route, mileage, deposit, insurance and fuel policy. Keep the rental support contact and supplied vehicle documents accessible.
Exterior and interior
Walk around the car with the representative. Check body panels, bumpers, wheels, tyres, windscreen, mirrors and lights. Make sure existing marks are recorded. Photograph the exterior, interior, dashboard mileage and fuel level.
Controls and safety
Before moving, locate:
- lights and wipers;
- parking brake and gearbox modes;
- hazard lights;
- fuel door and correct fuel type;
- spare wheel or repair kit, if supplied;
- warning triangle and required equipment;
- child-seat attachment, when requested.
Adjust the seat, mirrors and navigation while stationary.
Delivery and return details
Confirm the return address, meeting point, fuel level and contact procedure if traffic delays you. Ask what to do after a warning light, tyre problem, breakdown or incident. Do not authorise repairs independently.
Book an available vehicle
Choose dates on zurocars.com, select a car and confirm the final booking in WhatsApp. Then use this checklist at handover.
